OUGD402 Reflection on Design Process in OUGD406 Brief 01
As I have started my brief analysis and first thoughts about the secret 7" brief I have started to realise it needs a completely different approach to my design practice. My normal process is very much dictated by purpose and context and although these still play a major role, it feels like this same approach might hold me back creatively in this brief. The style of many of the chosen pieces last year were very illustrative and the clear amount of work and time that went into them made them look high quality and desirable. This is something I am going to need to consciously implement. This is also much more of an artists brief with its openness. This scares me a little, I always like to at least know where the box is so that i can attempt to think outside of it. In an effort to ease myself into a more creatively open brief I am starting by drawing everything, in an attempt to introduce a freedom of design choices early on.
